A conference for change-makers

You’re a troublemaker. You can’t ignore the clash between today’s soulless production-line culture and the digital revolution, which rewards connection and openness. Our outdated organisations need your help—and yet, you can’t change the world on your own. Join us in London for a two-day conference (plus an optional workshop day) where we dare to take risks, be vulnerable, and do work that matters.

Let’s talk about the hard part

There are no spectators at the Dare Conference: everyone participates. Together, we’ll get uncomfortable, share what we know, and learn from each other, in a respectful and inclusive environment.

We’ll learn:

  • How the connection economy is shaking up our siloed, factory-like organisations;
  • How shame sabotages our work. We’ve been conditioned by our production-line culture and education system to tell ourselves that we’re never “good enough”. Shame pushes us to towards perfectionism and disengagement as we try to avoid vulnerability;
  • Why we need to become agents of change and start building learning organisations;
  • How people from Silicon Valley startups, corporations, charities, governments, and other organisations have found the courage to be vulnerable, to fail, and to learn.

We’ll leave with:

  • Tools that will help us persevere as we take risks and be vulnerable;
  • The resolve to lead our communities, projects, and organisations in a challenging and respectful way;
  • The confidence to engage in difficult conversations (which will make our jobs easier);
  • A plan for changing our organisations’ culture by modelling behaviours like vulnerability, respect, and empathy;
  • New relationships and support from a worldwide community of fellow explorers.

Come as yourself

You know your work can change the world, even though you’ll make a ruckus on the way.

You’ve stopped trying to fit in, and instead you’re willing to be vulnerable, risk failure, and lead. And you’ve learnt that instead of being a hero, you need to find others who are ready to leap into the unknown, together. The Dare Conference is for you.

We are:

  • User experience designers, content strategists, and developers;
  • Entrepreneurs, innovators, and change agents;
  • Product managers, digital leaders, and community managers;
  • People who are ready to do their art instead of following instructions.
